Silvopasture

I manage a family farm, to 14 km from Calceta. There are milky cows, cocoa trees and coffee trees, too. We sold the milk to Toni, a Guayaquil's factory that produce packaged milk, cheese and mainly, yogurth, Over 160 liters per day we produce. In this year, we introduce in 20 hectares in this our land a silvopasture system, with the purpose of improve the milk production per cow.
The project consist in to sow plants of algarrobo (prosopis pallida) and guachapelí (pseudosamanea saman) in sabolla grass pasture, in square of 10m*10m. Sowed in February beggining, now the small plants are 20 cm high.
